New Personal Information Required By TSA Before Booking Your Next Flight

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is introducing Secure Flight, a program designed to enhance the security of commercial air travel.

As a result, additional information will be obtained from you the next time you book a flight.

Starting now you will need to provide the following information as it appears on the government issued photo ID you will use when traveling:

  • Full Name (First, Middle, Last)
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • TSA Redress Number (if applicable – a TSA provided number for personal identification for those persons who have gone through the TSA redress process)

“Secure Flight is a key tool in confirming that someone identified as a ‘No Fly’ does not receive a boarding pass,” said TSA Acting Administrator Gale Rossides.”  Secure Flight will make travel safer and easier for passengers.”

You may want to take a moment and login to your favorite airlines’ website (or have your admin do it).  Go to your profile and fill in the additional information.  That way you don’t have to worry about it when you’re booking that next last minute flight.

Or, if you haven’t already booked your flight, get a great deal on a flight now and fill in the additional info at the same time as booking the flight. Fly safe!
