T5 JetBlue Terminal at JFK Airport is Great

I fly mainly out of JFK in NYC.  JFK is generally a mess, but getting better.  I have to say – the newish JetBlue terminal at JFK is a breathe of fresh air.

The design is great.  I particularly like the marketplace, which was designed by Rockwell Group.  David Rockwell is known in NYC as a top designer including the first Nobu restaurant and the first W Hotel.

The terminal houses 22 restaurants ranging from burgers to excellent sushi and a hip bistro.  There’s a central board with menus for all of the restaurants so you can decide where you want to go before walking all over the terminal.  There’s also a long bar where you can work from.

Did I mention free WiFi?  Yep, the terminal has that too.  I can actually be productive while waiting to board my plane in this terminal.

If you’re traveling with kids, JFK terminal 5 is a blessing.  There’s a huge children’s play area.  I love the actual Jetblue engine that you can actually touch while listening to an overview of how jet engines work.  That will keep your 12 year old boy occupied for at least 20 minutes.

I wish all airport terminals were this nice!

Oh, see another reason why JetBlue JFK terminal is great

The bars in T5 are phenomenal too! You actually forget that you are in an airport… Cheers!
