In this era of globalization, corporate moguls and business executives struggling with the boredom while boarding airplanes are a common sight.  Always found on the road of work, business travelers seek refreshment every now and then to rejuvenate themselves, be they at airport check-in counter or boarding queue. Courtesy to the KLM, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and AR Lab, now the passengers at Amsterdam’s Schiphol International Airport can have fun by playing an interactive AR trivia game while waiting for their flight.

Now, air travelers can check and enhance their knowledge about destination in a playful manner whenever they visit Schiphol, Europe’s 5th busiest airport.  Fun AR trivia game, Ready for Boarding is based on Layar’s mobile augmented reality platform and focuses on the passengers’ travel destination. At the Ready for Boarding Layer, there is a live data of Schiphol’s flight schedule; passenger can select the exact flight he/she is taking and then answer trivia questions about destination that appear as 3D objects in AR. This game is as interesting as educational play games for children since the players also receive points for every correct answer in the allotted time.

With AR experience, travelers can enrich their experience with state-of-the-art technology. This high-tech game is supported with visuals of young Dutch designers from the Royal Academy of Art from The Hague.
