They’re Here: Bag Fees on International Flights

You knew it was just a matter of time.

Unfortunately, fees to check bags are being introduced by airlines on international flights.

Over the last quarter, all the major U.S. based airlines have added $50 fees to check a second bag on flights to Europe.  Continental and Delta have added the second bag fees to flights to Latin America as well.

U.S. Airlines haven’t added the second bad fees to flights on most Asian routes – yet.  It wouldn’t surprise us if the airlines couldn’t pass up this added revenue.

We are hopeful that airlines will not begin to charge to check the first bad on international flights.  But, we’ll see what happens as we move into 2010.
