How Much Is An Airplane Blanket Worth?

Now we know the airline industry isn’t exactly known for providing good service.  But things are getting a bit ridiculous.

American Airlines apparently thinks all travelers are rich.  And there is nothing that comes with your ticket purchase other than a seat.

If you want a blanket and a pillow on an American Airlines flight, get ready to reach for your wallet.  American Airlines will begin charging $8 for a pillow and blanket starting May 1.

The purchase will come with a $10 off a $30 purchase coupon from Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  Like we don’t already get these coupons mailed to our homes all the time already.

Granted other airlines like JetBlue and US Airways are already charging for blankets, but not $8.

You can keep your $8 pillow American.  I’ll use my jacket and save my expense account for things that will help me win clients.

Will American Airlines start charging to use the restroom next?  Wouldn’t surprise me.

For me a jacket just doesn’t do it. I like to cuddle and get as comfortable as I can, so I carry my travel blanket, pillow, eye shades, ear-phones and an iPod to help myself get some good shut eye time or just zone out.
