Description:

Neck Pillow by Tempur-Pedic is recommended for those who desire not only a better nights sleep but also need a more therapeutic sleep posture. The dual-lobe design supports the curve created by your head, neck and shoulders to properly align your spine and give you a perfect nights sleep! It is important that you choose the proper pillow thickness based on your shoulder dimensions and sleeping position preference to promote an anatomically correct posture. A pillow that forces your head too high or allows it to fall too far back not only places stress on your neck, but could inhibit breathing. While memory foam products come with many great benefits for your health, they also come with something else; a semi potent initial smell. When you first open your memory foam product you will notice that is has what appears to be a faint smell of gasoline. This smell will naturally dissipate over time and is non-toxic. Once the smell has gone away, you will be able to experience all the benefits of having a memory foam product. Pillows and other comfort items are non-returnable and do not have a tryout period. ....read more

we call it “the stone”

I have purchased and used several “elastometric”-type foam pillows over the years; including the JC Penny “Ultimate Pillow” and others like them.

This Tempur-pedic possesses both the good and not-so-good qualities common to all of them.

Like the others; the Tempur-Pedic is quite hard when one first lays down on it; especially when the pillow has been in a cold environment for awhile.

Once it warms, the pillow will begin to soften and conform to the sleeper’s head and neck, while also beginning to reflect a fair amount of body heat.

Granted; the Tempur-Pedic pillows are cooler than most of the competitor’s pillows, and (so far) have not compressed (flattened-out) over time.

Overall; I would recommend this pillow over their larger “Symphony” pillow; especially for back sleepers or side sleepers with relatively small neck to shoulder dimensions.

best travel item I’ve owned
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve had this pillow for almost 5 years and bought another one for my wife about 3 years ago. I am in the military and have traveled around the world with this pillow and won’t leave home without it. In my experience, the tempur pedic brand is by far the best memory foam you can purchase and far outperforms any other options. This can be rolled up into a neck pillow or opened up for a great sleeping pillow. The initial price may seem high but the overall value is outstanding and worth every penny. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Unfortunately this pillow was a waste of money for me. I had two issues which made it unusable:

First, the smell never entirely dissipated and caused allergy problems for my husband. They claim that these are hypo-allergenic, but this was not the case for us.

Second, this actually CAUSED me to develop neck pain. I’ve used cheaper foam pillows in the past with no problem, but something about this one wreaked havoc on my neck. I stopped using the pillow after about a month and the pain was gone in a week!

This was an extremely disappointing experience, made even more so by Tempur-Pedic’s refusal to accept returns and lack of concern with the issues caused.
